Around Town

The Harborside Inn is located right on the harbor in downtown Edgartown. The hotel is just a minutes walk from an abundance of restaurants, shops, galleries, coffee shops and museums. Directly beside The Harborside Inn is The Atlantic Restaurant, an up-scale eatery with amazing water views. Across the street from Atlantic is The Wharf Restaurant & Pub, a more casual bar and dining with all the New England favorites such as clam chowder, fish and chips and lobster clambakes.

In town, you can find a variety of gift shops, book stores, clothing and shoe stores as well as home goods, jewelry, fine wines and liquors. Edgartown (unlike the up-island towns) does sell alcohol at both liquor stores and in its’ restaurants. But be prepared if dining in the dry towns of Chilmark or Aquinnah, one must bring your own alcoholic beverages (byob).

Bike rentals are also available in town and are a great way to get around the island. There is also a public bus system run by the Vineyard Transit Authority that picks up and drops off at the Edgartown Visitors Center just a few short blocks from The Harborside Inn on Martha’s Vineyard.
