The majority of travelers who visit Martha’s Vineyard come
by ferry, and many choose to leave their cars behind and walk on.

The Steamship Authority
Services Martha’s Vineyard from Woods Hole, MA and arrives
in both Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs. It is the only ferry service
on which you can bring a car and the only year-round ferry service
to the Island. Auto reservations are required in the summer months.

New Bedford-Martha’s Vineyard Fast
Ferry
Offers year-round daily walk-on catamaran service from New Bedford,
MA to Martha’s Vineyard. The 1-hour trip arrives in Oak Bluffs

The Vineyard Fast Ferry
Offers seasonal daily walk-on service from Quonset, Rhode Island
to Oak Bluffs via high-speed catamaran. Reservations are recommended.

Driving Directions to Martha's Vineyard
(via Woods Hole)
From Boston: Take Route 3 to Sagamore Bridge
follow Route 6 to Buzzard’s Bay & Bourne Bridge. Take
Route 28 to Falmouth & Woods Hole.
Alternate Route: Take Route 128 to Route 24 S, to 495 S,
which turns into Route 25 S to Buzzard’s Bay and Bourne Bridge.
Then take Route 28 to Falmouth & Woods Hole. Follow signs to
islands.
From New York: Take 95 N to Providence, 195 E thru
Fall River and New Bedford to Route 25/28 S to Falmouth & Woods
Hole. Follow signs to islands.
By Private Boat
The Harborside Inn welcomes boaters! We are steps from the Edgartown
Yacht Club, have private dockage available, and as Edgartown’s
only waterfront inn, are your best choice for land accommodations
in Edgartown.
Marina and mooring services are also available in Edgartown Harbor.

16 are monitored. Channel 74 is the working channel.
